What is Taxonomy?

Taxonomy is a term used in content management systems like WordPress to classify and organize content. By grouping content into specific categories or tags, taxonomies make it easier to manage content on websites and make it easier for users to find relevant content.

There are two main types of taxonomies in WordPress:

1. Categories: Used to group content according to general themes or topics. Categories are usually hierarchical and can be divided into sub-categories.
2. Tags: Used to group content according to more specific, detailed characteristics. Tags are often used in a non-hierarchical, more free form and multiple tags can be added to a post.
